New Web Enable Pedigree Tool

The capability to capture and send via email a 4 or 5 Generation has become easier and more cost effective! CSSI staff has just tested a new Portal Digital Format (pdf) tool that is low / no cost and provides Excellent Pedigrees created and emailed directly from Champions. All versions of Champions Lite can use this tool.

We created this 4i Champions Pedigree using that product: new 4 generation pedigree. *You need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view.

All customers that we have demonstrated the capabilities of pdfFactory(r) within Champions have been greatly impressed. You can save 4 & 5 Generation Pedigrees (5 Generation saves to a pdf and can be printed on standard size paper) or any report such as the Litter Registration Application. 

Database Compression Tool for Backup

Your database should be copied to the Flash Memory, diskette or CD every time you make major additions or changes.  

With the economical availability of Flash Memory devices that attach to the computer's USB port, Copy and Paste the Kennel.db from the Board4i folder is quick and easy.

Vista & XP customers now have a version of Disk Compression included.

If you prefer to copy your database to Diskette, you must consider that the capacity of the Diskette is 1.44MB.   The solution as the database reaches this size is to either go to media with larger size limits such as CD-ROM or Zip Drives or the use a Compression Utility called Winzip(r).   We have included a Working Evaluation version of Winzip on the installation folder Tools under the Lite4i.  

To Download the Evaluation Version of Winzip(r)  Click   Download Winzip

To install, double click on the Winzip90.exe.  

To Backup using Winzip, (1)use the Winzip Wizard, Click Next, Select Create New Zip File, Click Next.  

(2)This step allows you to Browse to Backup Device (Diskette, CD or…) and Name the Backup File (We suggest that you use a name plus date; champ0814) 

(3) Now Click Next, Add Files, Now Navigate via the (Up Folder Icon)to Lite4i folder and select petdb.db and  

(4) Click Zip Now and your database will be Backed Up.  Click Finish to close Winzip.

To Restore into Lite4i Folder (This method uses the Right Mouse Click Copy and Paste)

1.             Close all programs including Champions

2.             Find your backed up database

3.             Right Mouse Click the Start button on bottom left, Select Explore

4.             You will see a list of folders on the left window. 

5.             Locate the “A” Drive, My Documents or previous installation of Lite

6.             You will now see the list of files in the large window on the right.  It is in alphabetical order.  Locate the petdb file.  To be sure, you can right mouse click and select Properties.

7.             Now Right Mouse Click the petdb file and select COPY.

8.             Go back to the Files and Folders list on the left and locate “C” Drive and Lite4i folder

9.             Right Mouse Click the Lite4i folder and select Paste.

10.           You will be prompted to overwrite the existing file and you will select Yes.
