Champions Update 4i.8.5  Winter 2009

This Update is for Current CIW Customers with active enrollment in the Update Subscription.  The Update is Password protected and will not function without password

The initial Update Release 8.5 is now available for Customers with Current Update Subscription.  You should be using current CIW 4i.8.1 or higher before installing the 8.5 Update.  

Download Process Overview: To utilize the Champions 4i.8.5 Update you must first create a Storage Folder on your Computer for the Update to be Downloaded.  My Documents will do.

2.  Download the Ciw4i85Oct2008.exe file to your Archive Folder.  It is 2.1 MB in size and should not take long to download.

3.  Install the Update in the Champions Folder.  After the download has completed, close out of all programs including your Internet Browser.  Now with My Computer locate and access the ciw4i7u.exe file.  Double click the file.  At the prompt, select UNZIP.   

Click the Release Summary first to see Features included.  Print for future reference

This update is password protected only available to current Champions Update Subscription customers.  The password will is available for current registered customers via email icon at right requesting Champions 4i.8.5 Update Password.  Please enter "Champions 4i.8.5 Update Password Request" in the subject line of the email.

**The default folder is champ4i.  Your database should not be affected by this Update.  However; we always suggest that you Backup Your Database petdb.db before any application changes.

New features require Updated Documentation.  Click on the link above to Download the CIWDOCS Update to current Release 7 level.  This update will install into the champ4i folder with no password required.  The installation process is the same process as described above.

New Sample Database Update  500 KB

Several customers who had older releases of Champions, wanted to view the new Release 8 Features with the Sample database application but could not due to older data in their Sample database.  If you wish to see the new features via the Sample database application, please install the Sample Database Update. This update will install into the champ4i folder with no password required.  The installation process is the same process as described above.

*Change Champions Icon Release Level: A recent Full Install of Champions will setup a Dalmatian Icon with a Champions 4i.5 text descriptor.  To change the Release Level from 5 to 8, simply Right Mouse Click the Icon and Select (Left Mouse Click) Rename. Then go to the text and change the 5 to a 8 and hit Enter.
