Handling In Windows: 2.3 New Features for Windows Vista & XP

  Windows Vista Style Graphical User Interface: All screens include the Minimize, Maximize and Exit icons for fast navigation from screen to screen.  Handling In Windows 2 has redesigned all Command buttons relocating them to the Right / Top of each screen that permits Resizing of all sub Windows.  To accomplish this, place the cursor near the 3-Deminsional border.  The cursor will change to horizontal double ended arrow.  Now drag the screen to the desired size.    

Interactive Database for Pets, Owners and Shows:

1.  Pet Interactive Database command button provides for full screen viewing of all Pets.  A total number of Pets is given.  A new report gives a listing of all pets in the database is provided via Print button.  To select a specific dog, double click on the entry.  The next item to explore is the Sort Buttons that provide powerful grouping of the dogs by Sire, Dam, Owner, AKC # or Registered Name.

2.  Owner Interactive Database command button provides for full screen viewing / print of all Owners.

3.  Show Interactive Database is included under the Show Menu item.  All Show Entries are listed with Sorts for Show, Class Judge and Specialty Judge.

 Shows Enhancements

 1. Show Entry Form has been updated with the latest text for the entry.

2. General Show section now sorts a show by name and date.  If the user needs help on this section, select File Maintenance from the Help Main Menu.

3.  Show History Report-The report has be redesigned to print the group placement,  group judge and the handler, along with the conformation show history.  Also, the report is viewing and printing in chronological order.  If the user needs help on this section, select  Add\Retrieve from the Help Main Menu. 

4.  Show Schedule- The show schedule now has a date range option before retrieving the show calendar.  If the user needs help on this section, select Shows from the Help Main Menu.  

5.   Entry Schedule- The entry schedule has been redesigned to print multiple dogs on either pre-printed entries that are received from the show superintendents or the Handling In Windows generated entries.  If the user needs help on the section, select Shows from the Help Main Menu.  

6.  Judging Program- The judging program now list the time the judging starts along with the estimated time the dog will enter the ring.  If the user needs help on this section, select Shows from the Help Main Menu.

Invoice Enhancements

Invoice- The invoice section has been redesigned to list the charge items in date order, rather than line order.  The screen has been enlarged for better viewing.  The show dog’s name is appearing on the top of the invoice.  And the previous balance carries over to the next invoice.  If  the user needs help on this section, select Billing from the Help Main Menu.

Pet Enhancements

1.  Pet Detail Screen- The Sire and Dam fields have been extended and the ILP# has been added.  Also, two fields have been added.  These fields are Entry Fee Amount and Show Class.  If the user needs help on this section, select Add\Retrieve from the Help Main Menu.

2.  Since the introduction of Multi Year and Partial Year Vaccines, our staff has looked at different ways to address and notify via HIW2 that the vaccination is OVERDUE. With this release, we have changed the Vaccine Given field to Date Due.  When vaccines are entered for the Pet Detail, enter the Date Due for revaccination.  The system will check and notify if the Date entered is prior to today’s date.

New Documentation in the Installation

A separate subfolder to Handler2 is HIWDOCS.  Access this subfolder via My Computer or Windows Explorer.  CSSI has included in pdf format (ie. you will need the Acrobat Reader to view these files)  six commonly accessed documents as reference:
