A. Preventing Duplicate Pet Detail Entries

When dog records are added through the Pet Detail the program will automatically check the registered name entered against other registered names previously entered. If the registered name being added is a duplicate a screen will appear stating the record is a duplicate enabling you to load the previously entered record.

Dog records that are added through the Sire/Dam Detail screens when pedigree links are made will create a Pet Detail record but this entry method does not check for duplicate entries.

Entering new dog records through the Pet Detail will help prevent duplicate entries. Also with proper entry selection from the Sire/Dam browse screen makes pedigree link selection easier.

D. Improving Handler Access Performance with Large Database

Many of our customers have been busy entering much information into their Handler database. As the database increases in size, you may see some "slow down" in access & retrieval performance.

CSSI has a procedure to modify registry entry to allow you to increase the size of the Cache Memory used by the database engine. If your database (handler.db file) is greater than 10 MB, you should consider expanding the Cache definition. Please contact CSSI via Telephone or Email.
